A Little About Our
Giclee Printing Process.
• The first step in the process is to analyze the original
art to determine the best possible lighting set up, and to
make decisions regarding resolution and suitable paper stock.
• The original art is then carefully placed on the copyboard.
We can capture two or three dimensional works of art as small
as 4 x 5 inches or as big as 6 x 8 feet.
• Critical lighting and focus adjustments are made to
insure the reproduction will be razor sharp and all the subtle
color and texture nuances are captured.
• The capture process starts with a full screen preview
of the original art. Adjustments to exposure, ISO and aperture
settings are made. These critical adjustments are necessary
to be sure there is no loss in highlight or shadow detail.
• The next step is the high resolution digital capture.
This is a very specialized process and can require scanning
times of over 30 minutes to collect all the data required
to insure the reproduction is razor sharp and all the subtle
nuances are captured.
• Our digital capture device is without compromise.
It produces the largest images, the most vivid colors and
the sharpest detail of any large format capture device in
the world. The equipment we use is very specialized and very
expensive and the results we get are incredible.
• After the image is captured, it is proofed and compared
to the original art. We retouch the image as needed until
it meets our exacting standards. Our goal is to make the most
beautiful reproduction of the original art that is humanly
and technically possible.
• After the retouching and proofing process is complete,
the image is printed at extremely fine resolution to obtain
the sharpest details and richest colors possible. All of our
prints are produced using only the finest archival inks and
acid free fine art materials.
